Home Mission Sunday – Evangeli Gaudium Day – 20th September

Purpose: A day to celebrate the beauty of the Catholic faith, pray for the work of evangelisation, and encourage believers to share the Gospel in their daily lives. It is an opportunity to reflect on our call to share the joy of the Gospel with those around us. Home Mission Sunday reminds us that mission begins close to home: in our families, workplaces, schools and neighbourhoods, as well as in our churches. It is an invitation to consider how our parishes can welcome people who may be searching for meaning, returning to faith, or encountering the Church for the first time. The collection is to support National Evangelisation Efforts and the work carried out by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
